Baren runs back out of the bar as quickly as he ran in, wearing two pairs of bedazzled shutter shades - only one of them sits properly on the bridge of his nose, the other rests atop his head in its shiny, shiny glory. He brings a big old pitcher of... something, as promised, as well as two champagne flutes. The pitcher is some mix of bright red and a confusing purple, light-up ice cubes swirling inside of it to give it a properly flashy addition.
He's also wearing two leis and carrying a watermelon underneath his other arm. It's quick as he tosses the watermelon in the backseat, shoves the pitcher at Nika, and climbs into the driver's seat.
He pulls off one lei and pair of shutter shades to hold it out to Nikkari even as he moves to drive right off.]
[Nikkari knows the drill, takes the pitcher and holds it steady between his legs as he puts on the shades and lei, knowing that the watermelon was stolen just because Baren could at that point, and that he's never going to actually get stopped for his madness as much as the poor souls working there would hope. that's the legacy of party satan - untouchable and a force of nature.
Nika also has enough presence of mind to wave to the bar as they leave, laughing more as he then moves the pitcher to keep it steady.]
We're too good for them, anyway.
[god, he's so glad that he gets to be a part of this madness.]
Baren cracks up as he floors the gas pedal to get them over to Kaiba's building now and he's familiar enough with the path that he can manage to navigate them fairly smoothly even with their dumb new accessories. The safest decision Baren makes tonight is lifting the shutter shades so he can drive.]
Damn right, Nika. They didn't even have mangos. Heathens.
[somehow he has a job here so hopefully they don't give him much grief. they manage to find a parking spot and then it's time to begin their adventure to the roof]
You know exactly what I'm saying. Besides, our way we'll get a better view.
I might have to take these off to get something of a view.
[because of course he's wearing the shutter shades, but he's grinning in the sense that he knows how shitty his joke was. let's get going to the roof.]
[IT'S TIME FOR THE ROOF and whether or not baren's clearance gets him all the way up there, he's not against taking an elevator most of the way and then picking locks up until they get further and further up on different staircases until
there they are??
and baren's already laughing, delighted and bright - ]
This is a perk they definitely didn't lay out in my benefits!!
[at this point Nikkari's pushed up his glasses, trailing behind Baren and keeping a lookout when he picks locks, and when he sees the skyline, big and beautiful, he laughs with him, so happy to be able to see it.]
Look to your kingdom, Baren! You finally unlocked it!
[moments like these were more precious than gold to him - when really, anything could happen, and they'd make it true.]
[He'll laugh as he moves to sit right at the edge of the rooftop, because why wouldn't he. He lets his shades rest on his head and the mix of drinks hang out next to him.]

[is someone at Kaiba Corp really going to let this stupid car in? probably, yeah, because it's Baren and you don't question the spells he weaves.]
We're doing ourselves a favor by not staying.

[Baren laughs at that. This big, beautiful, fucked up city is his kingdom? What a thought.
And yet when he looks over at Nikkari, sees how happy he is about it, the thought doesn't seem so bad.]
Does that mean that it's mine to set on fire as I please?

[for the moment when the world seems yours, and possibility is infinite...he loves it.]
Can we delay the fire until tomorrow? I want to keep this view tonight.

I'll let it stay standing. For now.
